• On January 28th 1989, the “South Bend Tribune” announced:

  Bon Jovi concert scrapped - The Bon Jovi concert, tentatively scheduled for March 22 at the University of Notre Dame, has definitely been canceled according to Joyce ACC programs manager Joe Sassano. Tickets for the show had not yet gone on sale. Despite announcements of the show on MTV and in local media, Sassano confirmed Friday that Bon Jovis management decided late this week to route the tour through Evansville rather than South Bend. Unconfirmed reports still place the tour at venues in Indianapolis and Chicago late in March.
