Jon and Richie were part of The Great Music Experience, a three-night concert event held in front of a
Buddhist temple. That concert was partly backed by the UNESCO in hope the event would be the first of seven annual concerts in front of some of the world's architectual treasures. However,
this show would remain the only one.
-
Although Bob Dylan was also part of the show, they started with his classic Just Like A Woman. This is the
first time they've played that song.
-
Since Jon and Richie came without the rest of the band, they were backed up by other musicians: Queen drummer
Roger Taylor, session guitarist Phil Palmer, session
bassist Pino Palladino, English musician Wix Wickens on keyboards, English musician Ray Cooper
on percussion and for Livin' On A Prayer by Kirk Pengilly from INXS on saxophone.

On the DVD
included in the 2004 Box Set there is footage of Richie in his hotel room before that show complaining that he is "for granted" and that he would have favored to be home with his (back
then) fiancée Heather Locklear instead of playing in front of monks that don't even speak. This footage can be seen here from 57:14 on.
